There are so many good theories about Transformational Leadership (TL) and leadership in general. Many of them focus on “what” a good leader is and the “why” of leadership. TL focuses on that, and it goes many steps further. It goes beyond the what and why and moves into practical tools on the “how, who, when, what, where, and why.” Pretty much everyone in this world is smart, gifted, or talented in at least one area and many are gifted in multiple areas. The vast majority of people in the world have big hearts. They genuinely care about others. When those leaders are given practical and implementable tools and behaviors to walk out the “how” of leadership, their influence goes up and they become leaders far beyond what they have imagined in every sphere of influence in which they live, work, or play. Leadership is not about power or control. It is about influence. When people have the tools to influence in all three directions (down, across, and up), they have far more influence than they ever realized.
